This is my first blog for 2023 so happy new year I hope everyone’s good.
Today we’d like to shift the focus to educating our audience on the products we offer. We’ve spent some time on observing the market and it turns out the trolley backup inverters are quite popular.
Mecer BBone Series
We’ll start with the Mecer Back Bone series, at some point there was 5000 of these on back order so the demand is surely increasing.
Product overview: The B-Bone applies to diversified loads because of its digital design , pure sine wave output and excellent overcurrent protection can withstand loads with a large starting current.
The B-Bone is provided with independent solar three-phase charge management to improve charge efficiency of its batteries and realize a longer life , it provides universal 5VDC USB Output ports and 12VDC/24VDC Output to be widely applied to small solar power generation occasions including loadsheding, family picnic , schools ,street monitoring, forest monitoring, industrial and mining enterprise , frontier defense , pasturing areas. It’s portable so where you go it follows.

Main Features :
- Pure sine wave output
- Mains mode/battery mode can be set
- AVR voltage regulator function
- Utility power charging function + Solar charging function
- LCD+LED display device parameters
- 5VDC USB Output , 12/24VDC port output
- Inverter overcharge , discharge protection to protect battery life
- Built-in power frequency ring transformer , low no-load loss inverter stability
- Overcharge, discharge, overload and short circuit protection with alarms

Reliability:
The number one question I get is ‘HOW LONG IS IT GONNA LAST’ , to put usage into perspective I’d like you to imagine yourself thirsty, if I gave you an ice-cold bottled water and I asked you how long it would last you , what would you say ?
A similar thought process could be applied when asking the question. We reached out to Ellie’s to get an idea of “HOW LONG” these two options can last you :

The upside is that you can add more batteries to store more your energy , allowing you to supply power to more loads.
For South Africans this is ideal because we experience scheduled loadsheding and recently Eskom announced that they will randomly perform power cuts as per the need in the area where they are performing maintenance this is without prior notice to residents or business owners.
With a backup time ranging between 4-10 hours this solution can be applied between stage 4 and stage 6 .
Build:
To cater to mobility within the office , at your home and on family outings. Mecer has developed the B-Bone build . It’s an Inverter in a box designed to hold 1/2 built in batteries on a set of trolley wheels to make it easy to move around from room to room as per your usage needs. This build achieves the plug and play user friendly feel to the B-Bone.

Is it worth it ?
For our current situation with the utility company under strain and failing to deliver the B-Bone certainly presents the ideal solution to avoid loadsheding.
It’s scalability is impressive because you can add solar panels and additional batteries to extend your backup capacity.
Affordability would be the final greenlight on this one especially because we now offer a credit option.
